Bygone Days Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Bygone Days

bygone days
Times were good
Life enhanced with love
Which I would relive, and relive again
Precious moments
Shared with loved ones now long gone.

All remains are memories
Fading and dispersing
Dreams recalling those honeysuckle days
With family sat at table
Mother serving dinner
Father telling funny stories.

Faces from childhood hazy lost in time
Swirling mist of memories
Ebbing away within the mind
As in old age I step towards my end
Wanting again to relive golden days of youth
Cherished bygone days of joy.
