By The Sun, By The Soul Poem by Mystic Qalandar

By The Sun, By The Soul

By the Sun
that rises in my breast,
when I step beyond all sound,
and every veil upon my face
dissolves.

By the Moon
that trembles on the waters of my heart,
borrowing its silver
from the soul's own sun,
descending to the shores of sight.

By the Day
when knowing dawns upon the horizon,
and I behold the inner morning—
where all is clarity,
all abides in His radiance.

And by the Night
when I am lost from my own soul,
when heedlessness shrouds my light,
and I search for my face in the dark.

By the Sky
unfolded within,
where stars of revelation
glimmer through the silence.

And by the Earth
this clay of my truth,
where I bow low
and touch the pulse of my origin.

By the Self
poised in perfect balance
between shadow and illumination—
that I might discern
the path from the wandering.

Then He whispered within me,
a secret rising
from the ocean-depths of the heart:
"This is corruption, and this is piety—
both dwell in you.
Whichever you nurture
shall become your world."

Then I knew—
blessed are they
who polish the inner mirror,
who wipe away the dust of desire,
the ashes of forgetfulness,
till the sun shines again.

And lost are they
who bury their own light,
conceal their essence in dust,
and slay the camel of the soul—
the very sign of His mercy.

Then came the quake of remorse;
my Lord toppled the idols of my heart.
From the crumbled earth I rose,
and knew at last—
the light within me
is His oath itself.

From the caverns of my being, a voice:
"Know thyself—
for you are My oath."
