I think is a heartfelt poem, a serious wondering of whether our hopes do come true. I think it was written during a time of doubt, when prayer seem unanswered and hope darkens... but i think is marvelously executed.
Will hope ever shine well that's up to reader. This poem is so ambiguous in a few places..
