Buy Him A Guitar Poem by Randy McClave

Buy Him A Guitar

Don't buy your boy a gun
Buy him instead a guitar,
Then creative will be your son
In life he'll have a better chance of going far.
Then with work and effort to the par,
He won't be a murderer, but a superstar.

Don't buy your child a gun
Buy him a guitar instead,
Let him see how music is alive and fun
While a gun kills music dead.
His music then all will want to hear,
And not listening to bullets with fear.

Don't buy your youth a gun
Buy him a guitar to someday play on stage,
Let him practice and learn until he is done
Let that be his instrument against his rage.
Then let him form a band,
Let him then bring smiles and not tears to the land.

Don't buy your lad a gun
Buy him a guitar with excitement and joy,
Then miracles and excitement will be done
With his instrument and not a toy.
When his guitar he is playing,
Everyone is smiling, and not in fear praying.

Don't buy your teen a gun
Buy him instead a guitar with your pride,
And with it's learning he will never be done
And from no killer song has anyone ever died.
Soon others too will be seeking musician,
And not seeking a mortician.

Don't buy your youth a gun
Buy him a guitar to hold and play for the thrill,
Then he will learn to pick and strum
Then he won't want to pull a trigger to kill.
Now his hands will be creative and steady,
Then soon, he will impress a young lady.
