Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming, a state of the western US and amid wars between Indians and American settlers became popularized by 1809 poem Gertrude of Wyoming, by Scottish author Thomas Campbell (1777-1844) , who seems to have had a vague or defective notion of Pennsylvania geography and this poem has been written out of incidents happened that time........very well crafted......thanks for sharing
Most poets become famous in a short time afther their death. I wished they were famous during their life, but that does never occur. It is tragic for poets to be famous after they died. They do not know that anymore and they do not experience that anymore. However Jack Kerouac IS a good poet, writer and observer
His poems speaks straight to you, as the reader. To his family: CONGRATS with his poem BUS EAST as The Poem Of The DAY. I am so sorry for him after having read his entire biography notes here. He is a handsome looking poet. Saddest that he died at the age of 47. A TEN for all his emotions in this amazing poem. May he rest in Peace. Sincerely, Sylvia Frances Chan, Dutch poetess.
Classic Kerouac! Gotta love it! For those of you who like Kerouac, I invite you to my Poetry Page. Search: Kerouac. You'll find 40 poems I've written.
