Oh I just love it, you are a man after mine own heart. And thou knowest I speakest the truth. Great one buddy.

I think I know- in part- this feeling. In my parents home was a painting an older woman had painted and given them as a present. She lived with them till she had to be hospitalized and into a nursing home..they had very large hearts, my parents (smile) . It was just a rural scene with dry prairie grass and some nameless road going nowhere special, but I realized for me it kind of symbolized the plains, how they look at the cusp of winter, after summer is dried up and blown away..and I fell in love with the Midwest then, I think, much the way you speak of falling for the desert..I know it is the same feeling. I still have the picture. I wish it was on the wall so I could enjoy it- but knowing I have it is almost as good; I can nearly call it up just my memory alone.. great writing through and through here.
