Burden Of Unspoken Grief Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Burden Of Unspoken Grief

The weight of silence, a heavy unseen stone,
A heart that aches with words it cannot speak.
A hollow echo where joy once was known,
A shadowed path, the lonely and the weak.
The tears unshed a river held inside,
A fragile spirit where true feelings hide,
A silent sorrow that consumes the soul.
A broken vessel yearning to be whole.

The ghosts of memories that haunt the night,
A whispered longing for a touch that's gone.
A dying ember in the fading light,
A lonely vigil till the weary dawn.
The quiet storm that hits the troubled mind
Leaves me life's debris that are quite unkind,
Like an earthquake that shakes my whole being,
Leaving me tight-lipped with no rhyme to sing.
