Very intense feelings expressed here, Concetta. It's a good piece of work. And do you know that you have used the rhetorical device called anaphora in this poem? Anaphora is using the same word or words at the beginning of each line, which here, of course, is 'They'd' (except for the line starting with 'Instead') . However, please don't be offended, but I might suggest changing 'They'd' to possibly just 'They'. It would mean making other modifications to adjust to that, of course, but I think it might be less awkward looking and sounding, and might open up other powerful ways to express what you want to express. Just a thought. Regards, Michael
