Hooray for buckwheat- it is a good, wholesome food crop! When I travelled to Xichang, Sichuan in August I enjoyed buckwheat muffins. You are lucky to have seen and smelled its flowers. I only enjoy it as food, but I never saw it in flower.. .
My great poet and translator Denis Mair, It's really a good, wholesome food crop, but it grows in deep mountains. My hometown is located in big mountains. When i was a little girl i could enjoy its beautiful flowers in every fall and had its food in noodles. My mother can cook it so well. If one day we met in China i can cook it for you and it's tasted so well and also good for health.

When I read your poem, there's a picture that buckwheat flowers was blooming. Vivid memories came flooding back that my mum told me when she was young, she had a really hard time living in Shaanxi province.At that time, the best food was buckwheat.I'm really appreciated we live a better life now. really nice poem, best wishes.
