Brush Strokes...Freeing! Poem by Gio Masserati

Brush Strokes...Freeing!

Was it a brush stroke, I ask you?
Felt so light and freeing
...yet, each time I reached out
Strokes were brushed off...the canvas

We waded in cool, blue waters
Once aloneness...first
We dodged some waves
Until we got comfortable
Then began body surfing
Sharing the waves

I began to miss you so much
Loneliness crept in, could not keep
It's distance so alluringly cunning? ?
Held back, backwards flips in stomachs
Until pride's face gave in to I love you's

Reached out in hues of forest greens
...too late for you, it seemed): (
Holidays came and went in breaths
Red splotched stayed to distract...
Yet, remind with heartbeats...
Hidden in fluffy white cloud coverings
Do we? ...do I stay close to finishing?
As the color schemes change
Hoping for more brush strokes,
...crazed! Strokes, at will, brush by
Or, do I leave this sitting out?

Do say? ...To move on to another canvas
Dismayed in heart of hearts
Not pink, nor red, but purple or blue
Does, but doesn't matter, today...
In heartaches scheme of things
A question of Forever? ...and an all time

Always is the key, to painting you
Into the future...
Into my life and future, ..will stand
Infinity is smiling on me...
Waits for a you... patiently
I see the bright yellows of sun
Bistro lights up evening's shadowed haze
Demure moods on mood
Asking for hands...
...in to Eternity...

......no rush........

Brush strokes free with laughter
...and singing....freeing!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Sandra Feldman 03 February 2019

Fascinating poem Made of rainbows, color spectrums And dreams, Slightly surrealistic, But still beautifully realistic enough Not to fall apart at the seams. Very sincere and well written. Excellently done, pulls the reader in, not letting go till the full idea conquers and is done. The color scheme represents feelings that affect the poet's mood differently but that prove emotional for the reader and complete the canvas of this poem, brilliantly.
