Yes this is very tough to manage. Drugs do help but they are costlier and money is our weakness so we don't supply.

captures the essence of how africa still is in chains. the physical ones are gone but the continent reels under poverty ignorance and diseases. the rich brothers plundered africa so they will not own up or even pay reparations

Great poem. Words from the heart to bring home the sense guilt we in northern hemisphere must bear.

Africa is the forgotten continent, its children left to fend for themselves were ill prepared by their colonial masters, and once more left to be managed by greedy grasping and corrupt men. I live in Howick a small town in Kwazulu Natal the province in SA that has been hit the worst by HIV/Aids, We have a cemetary in our street which three years ago was mostly empty, now its full. Thank you for writing this. Bob Blackwell

Jeff, That was nicely written and sincere. A nice piece x-raying Africans prior brawn and now, brittle morbidity and fragility. Nice piece. The caption is the bomb! Keep proclaiming the poetry of love and help.

nicely written.seems to be a contribution to the campaign and awareness against H.I.V... but i think the government are expected to make availability of the drugs to those that are concern. thanks for sharing....................

I dont know how to start commenting on something of this standard. Its just, wow. I am from South Africa and i have seen allot of Africa. The thing is, it seems like non one outside of Africa knows about what goes on here. You captured the feelings realistically and expressed the most horrid of things in a way that makes you want to help, not just read and comment. Your poetry is amazing.
