Broken Vengeance Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Broken Vengeance

I thought we would be forever,
Now we are not even together.

Snakeskins,
Tiled floorings.

Tequilas under the moonlight,
Kissing in the cold night air is a delight.

The voices in my head,
Repeat words I haven't yet said.

I am being taunted,
With pain, I haven't yet painted.

I am breaking at the knees.
Falling into each of the seven seas.

The weeks never seem to end.
The days feel so aloof it is almost as pretend.

A day feels like a week.
A week feels like a month I don't seek.

I want you to say sorry.
It will show you care enough to do so for me.

It won't heal much.
Maybe I will stop suffering as such.
