The sound of the traffic is quite soothing to hear.
It comes through our windows and into each ear.
There's no hint of a smirk, &, better, not one sneer.
[I won't go so far as to say "road noise" brings cheer.]

Love the tongue-in-cheek tonality in this one. Ol' Bri never fails to deliver.
Whose calling whom 'Ol' Bri'? ? ? ? You MUST not mean 'OLD', as I'm ONLY 75 y.o. [years old]! ! ! WAIT! ! How old did I say? ? ...ok. I AM OLD; I think I'd best die soon. Well, not 'TOO SOON'. Thanks, Rod. bri : )
I, of course, refer to my 'magic wand' of fairytale fame, which turned a pumpkin into a coach & healed the lame! Wonderful expression!
That is true. All of us like to go back to those careless and innocent childhood days. Beautifully inked. Nice share.
Still quite a naughty boy in heart you are, how wish I could tell this to your ma!
Our childhood most times sound very interesting whenever we look back especially if there are some aspects of childhood activities we missed. Interesting poem, well captured be Bri.
(cont.) 'The Antikythera mechanism is an Ancient Greek hand-powered orrery, described as the oldest known example of an analogue computer used to predict astronomical positions and eclipses decades in advance.'
(cont.) Didn't 'they' have computers then? bri ;) Thanks, Susan, though your comment ain't here yet. ;) (cont.)
(cont.) ....AND I found this: 'noun daring deeds; heroic daring. Origin of derring-do 1 First recorded in 1325-75; Middle English durring-do literally, 'daring to do, ' erroneously taken as noun phrase' (cont.)
Today 'Notifications' (a feature of PH) tells me that Susan Williams left/sent a comment here with the word-phrase 'derry-dos'. I would think it would be 'daring-dos' & I googled. (cont.)
enjoyed this glimpse of childhood with its 'magic wands' and derring do imaginations--- top marks--enjoyed the visit
No need to go back to your first childhood, Bri. You're in your second one now! : )
Sometimes it would be nice to be a kid again, but I certainly wouldn't want to live my life over. I'm almost at the end, and too tired to do it again!
But Kim, don't you know that if a human is granted to relive her or his life, (s) he is given a 12-point inspection for safety and all fluids and hoses are replaced? ? ? ? And it is FREE for any PH member! !
I think the end of my 'more enjoyable' part of childhood came around the age of 10 or 11 years. For a short while it improved as female chests swelled. : )
I think all of us, at times, would gladly return to those joyous, innocent days of yesteryear. Thanks for posting.
Be the first (after me) to read and enjoy this Poetic Prelude to whatever comes next in my poem list. Thanks for stopping by to visit. bri ;)
An interesting and entertaining write. It makes a reader reminisce his childhood days. Well crafted, Bri, with great images and rhyme.
