The short, rather abrupt lines work well to emphasize the short breaths of one overwhelmed by the urgency of desire and passion underpinning first love. I find love the hardest to write about. Words seem lame in comparison to what it feels like to love someone. But you did an excellent job, the emotions you planted like seeds in your poem have bloomed into a garden of love. Very good use of your words.
