Bright As Violets Poem by Hunter Skye

Bright As Violets

During the FroggyDaze Festival, at a drum circle near PA,
I met the most damn girl, who just came from down the way,
We caught each others eye before, but didn't say a word,
I watched her sit there quietly until she heard,

A piano ring out of nowhere, amused and delighted,
She walked up next to me, her eyes were bright as violets,
We were now face to face, my hands on her hips,
We looked into each others eyes and sneaked a little kiss,

Things only got better, my heart was filled with love,
She insisted on holding my hand, my little festival girl,
Dancing to all the jam bands without a care in the world,
But then she stopped, when she heard,

A mandolin ring out of nowhere, amused and delighted,
She walked up next to me, her eyes were bright as violets,
We were now face to face, my hands on her hips,
We looked into each others eyes and sneaked a little kiss,

Now we're back at the fire, it starts pouring down rain,
We saved the drums we could, everyone did the same,
I love those hippies, we're just one big family,
The fire never burnt out, its the joy of living free,

A guitar ring out of nowhere, amused and delighted,
She walked up next to me, her eyes were bright as violets,
We were now face to face, my hands on her hips,
We looked into each others eyes and sneaked a little kiss,

The morning was beautiful out for the first drag,
Watching people walk on by holding their pirate flags,
I got to see my pretty girl one more time before I left,
So I kissed her gently one last time, and offered her bra back
