Let's not beat about the bush. This is unbearably funny. Poor old Mac. You and I know that you slipped a meter or two here and there, (I can't quite put my thumb on it) but the tale is so well told you got away with it. Hugznstuff.

thorns can be a b(rier) itch. nice story, though i WOULD like to see the whole story. i believe my paternal grandfather, a machinist, got a steel splinter in his thumb, got blood poisoning, had surgery in a hospital, had stitches, was to be discharged the next day, and (so the story goes) died in his sleep after the stitches broke and he bled to death in the late 1920's. thanks for sharing, Adeline. bri
