Breathing Poem by Nellie Isabelle Steward Cooper

Breathing

I wait, wait, wait with bated breath.. so unsure
or perhaps I wait suffering-silent with abated breath

Who truly knows... be it foul or sweet...? ? ?

Should I hold my breath until I turn purple or my face is red
or some indescribable shade of face..far beyond description

But breathing is essential for one to stay alive
something pursued by all..with little or no notice

Tis oft said by many

It's as ez as 1-2-3, but you see one-two-three
is not always so very easy.. at least not for me

A very hard kick to the ribs once or twice should
do it... what ever it was... or hopes to become..

Oh that hurts so very much...! ! !

That's better.. it only hurts when I breathe
then stop breathing to solve your dilemma

Why you low down calculating and sly rascal
you disaffected knave.. I shall seek advice

Elsewhere...! ! !
