Chirping birds with the arriving dawn
Woke up in the morning hearing chants in a Mosque.
The tired earth is waking afresh,
No one knows what tremors are waiting

......truly I enjoyed this masterpiece...and this causes me to wonder have we all become immune...hardly anyone even mentions these terrible tragedies anymore...and before we have a chance to wrap our mind around one thing...something else even worse happens....you are going to be our news reporter.....I will be looking for the next report soon....
Beautiful poem. Breaking news with the morning tea Ends there itself, with the last sip of tea. Beautiful way you have portrayed the Breaking news with the morning tea. Loved reading it. I wrote a poem on similar topic....Breaking News....
Each day brings in news of devastated lives, heinous crimes.. of rape, theft, treachery and hooliganism... There is hardly any occurrence that gives life a boost....! With our morning cup of tea, we have to drink in such unhappy events too.... making a sensitive soul sullen... A very realistic presentation of the dismal happenings around!
An intense, Amitvian style write. These news headlines do enhance the delight of sipping the morning tea, but what its is difficult to get the truth down your throat. I know not what would happen, if the dawn breaks into misery and events that instill fear, instead of rejuvenating us.......Kudos! Thanks.........
The world has chaos as well as nice things coming in the news. Overall the history of human being teaches us not to be so disillusioned and there may be bright spots and happiness awaiting us. A beautiful poem created by the poet.
There is so much happening around and we sit praying that evry bad thing changes to good... but tat will never happen.. It will go on... Nice write
A nice description, in typical Amitava style. You are right, sometimes I think it is better to be ignorant what's going on, . But is it possible?
Wow! Totally intense - made more so because of it's reality being written so blatantly honest. It's hard to face these happenings so early in the morning while drinking a cup of tea. Hardship and turmoil all over the world, and some people causing death unnecessarily. An excellent poem Amitava. Reality at it's worst I guess you could say. Thank you, Amitave. RoseAnn
Just reread this poem, Amitava. Knowing you are a wonderful philosopher, and being in a philosophical mood right now, I am perusing your poetry once again. This time the last verse struck a chord with me. Seeing all these - the Holy life weeps with a silent cry, and the victorious death - laughs horribly with a hyena's smile. What a vivid picture this verse has brought to my mind! Can see death as a hyena laughing as he takes away another life. Very good poem, a masterpiece in both poetry and art! Wonderful, I give you another 10 for it touching my mind twice. Thank you, RoseAnn
