Congratulations to you. Happy to see your poem as poem of the day. World has shrunk into a tiny sphere with all the modern communications, internet, and media responding instantly to events. We are able to respond to storms and disasters more effectively because of breaking news. Your poem describes beautifully how technology plays a great role in all this.

Breaking news, skull cracker news Minute by minute, hour by hour And so many channels to choose Before the morning shower The media barrage shocks my soul With news that titillates or enrage Gone are the good ol' days of the past When we had only one Channel to engage.......... Nowadays, channels are competing for eyeballs and most of us do suffer from this breaking news, syndrome and the need to get a emotional high and then feel helpless at every atrocity/crime committed far far away from our drawing room couch. I would say that the breaking news on a daily basis is very unsettling but who can afford to be as oblivious as an ostrich with its head buried in the sand..it's best to know what's going on in our world and learn how to deal with it..good poem..

Lovely poem. Wonderful to see it as poem of the day. Yes life now a days start with breaking news. Sadly it is all the time some crime, killing or war news making head lines. Things that I do not always want to see or hear. I am so glad for the off button on remote control. But still I am thankful to the techno genius. Much good has been done with it. With out it I wouldn't be connecting to you!
