Break Ups By Gio Masserati

Break ups

why do they do these things
and leave me all alone?
can't they understand
that their thoughts aren't known?

my heart can not take the hurt
it happens all too much

I need someone to guide me
someone as my crutch

that's why my friend
I'm telling you
that God is always there

He'll take your hand
and lead you

and show you that he cares

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote many poems years ago in junior high and high school. My teacher helped me begin creating my poem books in 6th grade, from then on I was hooked...writing poems left and right for myself and others. I wrote this one in my 7th period Drivers Ed class for a friend that was having love problems with her boyfriend. What's funny is soon after, I stopped dead in my tracks when I was in choir a year later and some girl passed me a poem she said her friend had written...after not exactly being able to get to the bottom of my 'stolen poem conspiracy', I began to hold back and greedily held on to my poems from then on. That seems so sad to me now. Many times, seems like certain people are unethically willing to steal the rights and credit for your hard work.

A very delicate poem providing an option to seek patronage of the eternal master & the guide. I'm telling you / He'll take your hand and lead you / and show you that he cares

Something like that happened to me while I was in college..just a couple of lines..Now I get my poems back. One of my poems which was published in a literary magazine was attributed to someone named Anonymous. This happened after my poem was published - Light Of Love- and I found it online.Once a week I check my poetry by typing my name in the search bar..
