His Godless Life's a chain
Of success and failure
Love and betrayal.

Old Testament Jacob cheated
On his eldest brother Esau
To get that precious Birth Certificate.

God returned the fraud the favor, allowing
Jacob to be cheated by his in-law father
Ergo, Jacob married the wrong woman.

Desiring happy off-spring of his own
The fated father married a woman
He never really loved.

After giving him 3 children, he cheated on her
For someone he sincerely loved, unmistakably
The right chemistry was there.

But the right-girl betrayed him, and abducted
The delightful baby girl, daylight robbery nowadays
It's legal, theft is officially called sole custody.

Left to his own devices, former husband-father
Who once loved family life so dearly's indicted
Convicted to no-family-life-at-all; life prison.

He who used to indulge in 3-course suppers
Children joyfully surrounding him 24/7, his
Family life's bleakly replaced by video-chat.

Every other week, the extinct father's eating
The bread crumbs his beloved children are throwing
To the birds and ducks-Est-ce la vie-Yes, that's life.
