I still look back with sadness But I can still see my mothers pride As I stand by her side Boy to a man In loving memory to my mother......impressive expression. A beautiful poem so nicely and touchingly delineated.

Amen Dave...I experienced the same early childhood trauma and had a mother who endured pain as well...praise God that over the years things changed and I genuinely believe that my dad came to know the Lord...what reunions there will be in heaven some day...praise God from whom all blessings flow! Have a wonderful day!

Anybody who loves his mother is bound to protect her too even from the ill-treatment of his father. You have performed your duty assigned by your birth. Your repentance for avoiding the father is equally great. Thank you for sharing

The boy grows up and finds the strength to stop the torture of mother at the hands of his father. He is no longer a meek and timid boy, a witness to such cruelty , but a brave man challenging the brutality.A very impressive poem, thanks for sharing.

a poignant tale of domestic and emotional violence.....reminded a part of my life too where a child couldn't remain a child for long...............as she had to grow up soon for mom....
