Bow And Go Poem by Babatunde Aremu

Bow And Go

Bow and go, you are honourable personality,
Bow and go, you did well in the past,
Bow and go, you were a distinguished Senator,
No need to screen you, we don't need more information,
Just bow, wave to us, exchange banters with your former colleagues,
It's our tradition, it's espirit de corps.

Distinguished Senators, this is ex-this, ex-that,
He's proven to a good ball player
He was here with us for four years
Even though he was a benchwarmer
Let him just bow and go
His past sins are forgiven.

This is how they bowed down our country
Making mess of our great nation
With their paddy-paddy arrangements
They sacrificed merit for ignorance
Honouring the dishonoured
Turning our land into confusion
Making our fatherland to cow and bow
To their whims and caprices
