Hi Kev, this brought back so many memories for me as I was reading your poem. I truly loved it. I could actually see the children’s faces, being my cousins and friends from long ago, all lit up from the different colours. Thanks for the memories.

I love this poem! It is so full of detail and colour and positively bursts on the page like a true firework. The real beauty in it though lies in the emotion, the little bits of personal information about the grandparents and the scrummy food. I can see the whole scene in my minds eye - terrific penning.
