What a shame to have lost such a great musician as Jimmy Hendrix. He is well remembered even by the young. My children enjoy his music, how sad to have been lost in the haze of drugs. Jimmy along with other greats left just too soon. Jimmy may have left us but he lives on in his music and that we can always enjoy. --Melvina--
This poem was awesome.I loved Jimmie.he trained Ernest Isley of the Isley Brothers. Its so sad that WE as a creative people.Get loss and pay the cost of subtances. That remove much to soon
It is beautiful, short, nice and easy to recall. You really DO have an ear for poetry and a refined taste. Go ahead with this creative poetry.
Sometimes in life we need to slow down and listen to the still, seemingly insignificant voices around us. Their silent contribution may really be loud and effective...
As a free verse poem it is well written. Unfortunately this piece does not speak to me personally but that does not make it any less good. Poetry is about baring your soul and emotions. Sending a message to the world. You have written a worthy message and it will be like by many but remember some may just pass by and not take note. Rosemary
hells yes man. this rocks. i love the creative 'ness' it makes me see this poem. it dances in my mind. this is truly poetry right here folks. and Jimi Hendrix is the man. i have a guitar pick with a picture of his hand on it and his signature on the other side. yes. this is amazing. love it b
i love the color imagery you use 'purple melodies.....tie died brains...' i'm very fond of color imagery myself, however, i cant seem to capture it quite so neatly as you did. sweet.
Hell yeah, I wasn't around to appreciate Hendrix in his time, but his legacy remains as inspiration and just friggin AWESOMNESS> A ten from me, because I love your style and I friggin love Jimi Hendrix!
I really like how you played on the words 'dripped' and 'trips' in those two lines, that's pretty sweet.
It was 1966 when I first heard 'Are You Experienced'...the album! I did not need to be drugged to know I had been introduced to a great 'talent'. Congratulations for capturing such a period of time with this reference! L
This poem seems about Hendrix(a genius misunderstood, and then realized by understanding fans) way before his time. Too bad drugs played an integral part in his death. If only he had seen the writing up on the wall...He would have lived to perhaps deny his death or possibly to death's doorway-finially it's cold tendered kiss, bravely forestall. This is equally a superb compilation of Jimi Hendrix's success after his death. A living tribute by his fan. A good poem, does this equate.God bless and best wishes-Mike Gale.
I didn't listen to Jimmi but this poem is good. You must have been his fan.
Enjoyable about the 60's and Jimi Hendrix and his wasted talent. A life like a shooting star......willow
that's really a good poem. i really love it! wish u all the best!
A nice presentation of one's experience. The flow of the poem is smooth and more musical. It is really a good attempt by the poet.
Very nicely written, I wouldn't know about Jimi Hendrix, but I have heard his guitar, and it takes you away, ahh 10 for you
