BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL - Housewives



Seven young housewives of 30 to 40
of same neighbourhood in Neyveli township
will usually set out on semi- picnic,
to nearby temples - on two days workout,
leaving the children behind at home.

these beauties, have two valid
reasons for solo ventures;
husbands have no time and workaholic,
children cannot afford to miss schooling

double graduates, mostly hostel-dwelled,
wives are used to liberal brought up
escapade from the household chores,
and to refresh their boring status

affluent backgrounds, newer destinations,
every two months they go about in all directions,
by collective planning and good homework
intelligent group, with sound travel knowledge.

in designer blouses, and cut work fashion sarees
matching costumes and sensible colour schemes
they move around as beautiful angels
unmindful of their actual ages,
to the envy of all other colony residents.

self-jailed, conservative wives of the same age group
are hanging to the windows in broad surprise,
at the amount of freedom and enjoyment
of the ‘seven musketeers', cursing their husbands
………………………as useless and hen-pecked.
