Boats On A River, Haiku Poem by M. A Heathcote

Boats On A River, Haiku

proceed to meet me
at the bough of a sapling
old age shades my head

~

boats on a river
a race of trivial pursuits
leaf fall in winter

~

maximum effect
the sunshine in October
wilting sunflower

~

catkins are falling
east and west—north and south
the willows calling

~

alphabetical-
order—apples—pears—oranges
ripe old melody

~

fictitious tales
there a harsh reminder—love
is a parody
