Well, this is foreground action: it seems to be definitely malign but in a mischievous way rather then evil. The interplay of voices seems too relaxed to me to project the presence of evil. I saw a theatre company recreate a Commedia del Arte in which people got what they deserved, and the bad guys were humiliated and beaten with wooden stakes, but not killed. Well, it wasn't my kind of comedy, it was too cruel. But perhaps something like that occurs here?
