nice poem...I like the way it starts...Blue floats and hovers/it never comes to rest (meaning blue of sky and ocean, which is constantly moving and never at rest) ...

I love the feeling and sense/sensory impression this poem gives me of vision, or daytime certainties, fading into a dreamlike shadowy lack of clear sight about what our less than 20/20 night vision obscures, yet also opens up for us to our other sensory ways of taking in and thinking about impressions we tend to see more clearly without broad daylight, in transition as the night arrives. That was my first feeling,

Dear Philippa, I feel this is a fine poem. It's strongly evocative, it doesn't lecture to the reader, rather gives the reader direct perceptions and associations. My intellect doesn't 'grasp' all of the images (I love the 'pigeons...' section, that I DO grasp clearly) , but I feel there's real intelligence and language that's quite wonderful.

Philippa, this is lovely and very clever. I would like to try and write a poem like this as an excersise. It would be interesting, don't you think to see what someone else associates with the colour. Thankyou for sharing this. Your friend SG
