I love the way the last two lines vault over the improbable and mysterious gap between matter and life. I have no idea how that chasm was bridged but am definitely in favor of it.
Hmm, a trip to the linear accelerator and the observatory, without leaving my chair, and via a poem. God on one side and Einstein on the other, in case I get scared. Imagine that!
Have you seen Google Sky yet? Very cool, a fantastic voyage through the organism that is our universe, just like your poem! -chuck
I have never thought of it this way.Thank You for such thoughts I will keep.
A wonderfully crafted poem that articulates how the expanding frontiers of science have flavored our quests to determine who we are.
elysabeth - We are in perfect agreement on the natural expansion of our minds fearlessly into space. See my 'Fear Not' when you get a chance. Thank you for this brave new poetic world! Best - Cheryl
The mysteries of Science and space captured in this wonderful space-odyssey poem, I like it very much.--Melvina--
I had to google your mitochondrial DNA and read the words 'female inheritance' with a smile. This is a splendid poem that appeals to those of a scientific bent as well as those with poetic passion - in equal measure I suspect. Fascinating how the more we learn about universal sources the greater is the mystery of 'us'. I like the short sharp classical style of this piece and the metaphors you add - like salt to a fine meal. I must read it again. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxx
Wow! The metaphoric association as relating to 'the void' (Is it a wave or a particle? ') , our own biochemical universe (our bodies) , and the non-paradox of the infinite (thinking Kierkegaardian) may well also find favor with Steve Hawking! Even the deepest secrets entwined in the double ascending spiral are spread naked, no longer inappreciable. Ah, yes, those energy pumps and their connections and cosmic tie-ins. How far in does one venture before one emerges? Mitochondrial DNA and abstract chimericism I know as function, form, and expression, but this! Right AND left hemispheric blinding brilliance? Have you known Huxley's final hour? I feel as though I should sit back in my form fitted seat and strap myself in before I even attempt a reread. A piece de resistance! ! ! The body - the mind - Oneness; Voila! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Yet more to worry about from the effects of our space travel as we wander around in unknown territory.....This is some write, I could never put something so educated in thought process as this in poem form..~~~~~~~marci.xo
I ran and got my tinfoil hat just for this read...LOL. Good one.
