Blood Test Poem by Annette Aitken

Blood Test

Rating: 5.0

Blood Test

Nervously I wait in line
heard a shout for me that time?
A nurse appears and calls my name
racing heart as I go in.

Sweaty palms I lie in wait
slap my vein to make it wake
A little prick is all you'll feel
the needle starts to enters me.

Hunting around to find a vein
for crimson tide begins to flow.
How much more blood does she need,
Atlantic ocean, the deep blue sea.

Wait she announced,
the tides gone out.

Nice and amusing poem, I think all sensible people dislike blood tests and being stabbed with needles.
