I just stumbled upon this beautiful poem BLINDLY FAITH IN ARDENT HEART, OR it tumbled into my space. Either way it's a wonderful discovery. This is a poem of imaginative experience but at times the language is so passionate it suddenly seems to be actual experience. This line, for example IS IT YOU SO SWEETLY SINGING? and that leads directly to the line I FOLLOW LOVE IN MAD LONGING. I know the events are mental not actual. You say as much a little later YOU APPEAR BEFORE MY EYES./MAGIC POEM OF THE MIND. Yes, the poem takes place in the mind but THE ARDENT HEART is the creator of this vision of an ideal man and finds the language that blurs reality and imagined reality into higher state of awareness. Throughout the poem you are conscious of the difference between the real and the ideal, but the passionate language, as I said above, blurs the distinction so you have to keep reminding yourself (and the reader) ARE YOU JUST A HABIT OF MY MIND? Yes, that's true but the language is so convincing it creates a texture of real sensory experience. And who would not want to surrender to it? Th key line for me is THIS LOVE DEFEATS MY KNOWLEDGE. That is is the ardent heart asserting itself against the real world - that poor excuse of existence compared to our imagined reality. What a visionary poem!
