Like you said and he agreed with you
Better to end what one cant finish
Ices burns, fire melts, love blinds
Love will swell into a restless sea,
And its waves crashing on shores
that once knew peace.
There's a weight,
heavy like a thick blanket,
sunshine turned to shadow,
and hearts sighing under
the burden of too many smiles,
too many 'I love yous'
that echo, like shouting in the market
Sometimes,
can choke like a long embrace,
suffocating good intentions,
Like a long rough handshakes
they forget how to let go,
how to breathe.
Yet, in the midst of all the words,
the hugs that never seem to end,
there's a warmth,
a flicker of dying smokes
that knows love
can be both gentle and wild,
a stunt on the edge of a cliff.
So thank you for that,
to let it be light blind,
to let it be stone weight,
to leave space for the silent moments,
the wasted energy,
the doing nothing
that settle,
like dust on a window side,
waiting for the sun to be seen.
And now here we are,
Like two blind birds,
we can't fly our way—
We have failed if we try to
Like walking on eggshells
the sound of grief between,
the simple pleasure of being free.
