A nice eulogy to blackberries.Do check out my poem-''Single Woman sans Technology'' --that reflects a similar mood.Gives me the feeling of being there treading on the grass plucking the big berries.Quite pastoral.Lucid imagery.

What lovely tribute to blackberries...I had a hand-full early in the week, i was marvel at the size. unlike the ones I picked as a youngster-'back in the days'. Thanks for sharing this unforgettable poem-it goes into my favorites.I remember picking blackberries, after Mom promise to bake pies. Yummy, I can taste the deep red juice oozing through the crust.....a 10

How delightful! This is the kind of honest, heartfelt (and therefore unsentimental) paean to something all too usually over-looked that I like: visual, explicit, simple. Whereas I'm normally irritated by rhyming couplets in contemporary poetry - a verse-form that is contrived, though easily memorised - for this poem (adressed to children) it works just so! Well done, Sir.
