Richard, this is just amazing. Depending on which word is emphasized in a reading, the entire meaning changes. It could be a poem about a response, an ill-conceived response, to crushing poverty. It could be a poem about people or a person rising above a social station and seeking out designer goods to conceal the past, the poverty....Great work, Richard.
