Black Tie Event Poem by Lauren Coles

You don't want to show up for a special event in your underwear,
The black tie means you have to take a limousine and walk the red carpet,
Women were long fancy dresses but it's the men who are wearing the spicy clothes,
The night of toasts and lots of adult beverages can second place,
It can't escape from the pictures under the bright lights,
It can rest peacefully in the closet until the next awards show,
But some people will not get the memo but you did.
