Black Nation! Black People Poem by Adebayo Akinrinola

Black Nation! Black People

Black Nation! Black People
The fight, the struggles and the story.
We're hurting, but we're still hating.
We're tired, but we're still fighting.
We fall, we rise, yet we're still learning
Learning so hard to live united...
I take a journey back in time; as i go down the path of history,
I see a path paved with blood, pain and suffering.
The sacrifice of our Father's;
Though bounded in chains, they still had the courage to fight for freedom
Black Nation! Black People
Why are we still here?
Divided, corrupt and hateful, The price was high, but it was paid in full
I see mediocrity, violence and poverty maiming the destinies if our young blood
Everyone is running to the borders, pushing hard to cross to the other side, only to search for greener pastures.
Black Nation! Black People!
Where is our pride? where is our truth, we are still being treated like our fathers who
Sacrificed for our freedom
Where is our pride? Where is our truth?
