Black Hole Illusion Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Black Hole Illusion

Rating: 5.0

Sibusiso was her name
For her parents saw in her, a divine blessing
Gifted in both the physical beauty & that of the natural intellect
Her smile & her voice were both sensuous & hypnotic
Her destiny seemed all written in the stars

Tik tok came by and bemused her perception
Instagram consumed all her attention
To social media, she lost her life strategy practical application
Thus suffered spatial disorientation
Popularity and viewership, the lifelong illusion of perception

Now she sits huddled in a cesspool
All wasted up & feeling more of a fool
If only she'd stayed the course & stayed in school
All her beauty & brains would've been cool
Now she's to take a spif & more needles to stay cool
