I too have a couple of pigeons coming to our yard every morning! They are so friendly! At times I throw some grains to them! I have a vague feeling that they presage some good omen! If they do not turn up as usual, I grow a little restless and an anxiety sets in my mind thinking that he day is not going to be fine. I know i is irrational.... Still...! I love this poem! It shows that the magic of things comes from closely observing the most ordinary details until suddenly you see the significance. It's like Saul's experience of Light on the Road to Damascus which makes him a new man - Paul. You were watching the bird out of curiosity but suddenly realized you were witnessing a Love Story! You do not oversell the Love Theme, but put the notion in our heads and let it grow inside. Wise move!
