The can opener was invented
fifty years after
the tin can
was first introduced.
I used to have a type of can opener which folded, and was about an inch long, and, I think, was issued to U.S. soldiers at one time and could be worn around their necks with 'dog tags'.
Woahh interesting. When my openers don't work i resort to knife and hammer it down to open. Kudos!
The food's in this can (in the can it does hide) . But I've failed to open can; I have so tried. My belly does grumble; with my knife I do fumble. After two weeks of trying I died. : ( bri
(cont.) .hese early openers were basically variations of a knife, though the 1855 design continues to be produced.'
Although preservation of food using tin cans had been practiced since at least 1772 in the Netherlands, the first can openers were not patented until 1855 in England and 1858 in the United States.. (cont.)

Why, why, a limerick, Bri? I certainly see no reason why!
