Birthday comes
Reminding us
That one year has flown by
And 365 days
More we have walked
The grass is growing grey
We have to save this grass
And gift to them
Who come after us.
Hi Bharati, It is said, We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have just borrowed it from the next generation. Your poem truly echoes this very noble thought. Exquisitely expressed. We have to save this grass And gift to them Who come after us. And, More we have walked The grass is growing grey is an original way to express how we age. Very nice..100++
We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers, we have borrowed it from the next generation.Thank you very much for your nice comment.
A beautiful poetry expressed in metaphor, life truly gives us wisdom as we grow in years, we learned patience and kindness in a much different way. Truly a remarkable write. Rated 10+
It's a great suggestion that we think about our life gifts to others on our birthday!
The poem is deep meaningful. I love this poem. Thank you dear poet. 10+++++
We have a moral responsibility to preserve the pristine beauty of Nature and gift it to generations coming after us! But if the present way of exploiting of Nature continues, our children will be deprived of healthy environs! A thoughtful write!
A succinct gem of a piece. Wonderfully expressed n the beautiful message is the icing on the cake. A big 10.

Once again you take a subject which often results in egoism and self-centered writing and instead give us as holistic view of the subject. You highlight a special moral insight that each year of life improves and that is so different from seeing a birthday as a selfish celebration of ME! ME! Unnikrishnan below articulated this poem very well in his own words. I'm in total agreement and want to be counted as one with this company/
Today I read your biography on your poet page. The incident you narrated in which one of your acquaintances tore the poem you had written before a group of people describing it as terrible and saying that if bad poetry did not die, good poetry would not live.Yes, how terrible his action was! ! Now we have you, a great poet and a great critique whose poetry inspires and whose criticism adds value to very ordinary poems. And I am the lucky one to get many such valuable comments on my poems.Thank you very much.
