(continued) ... 3- if the birds had the key...[you wrote with lock and key]...they could let themselves IN and OUT at will (anytime they wanted to) AND 4- being in a cage beats being in a cooking pot. right? am i RIGHT! ? well, sometimes i am. bri :)

(continued) ..my answers to why birds might WANT TO live in gilded cages: 1- gold is pleasing to the eye. why, some birds even have gold coloring on parts of their bodies! ! Golden Pheasant? American Gold Finch? 2- a cage could protect the birds from cats, hawks, and (some) snakes! ! i could use a cage at home to protect me at times! ! (continued) ..

i like birds and the poem, .......and even some people. but why would birds NOT want to be in gilded cage with lock and key. after all 1- gold is a nice color; some birds have 'gilded' plumage; 2- a cage would protect them from cats and hawks and (some) snakes; 3- if the bird(s) has/have the key..[[you wrote: with lock and key]]...they could let themselves in and out at will; AND 4- a gilded cage is better than an iron skillet! ! ! to MyPoemList. bri ;)
