The grey waterside birds Aristotle called ‘Kalidris' and tenuirostris means 'slender bill'.....clarified nicely. Beautiful poem.

Thank You, Rose Marie. I am an ardent birdwatcher. So, when this bird appeared at Chavakkad beach near my home, I made a visit. With the help of some friends I could not only identify the bird, but see the metal band on its legs.

A great depiction of the migratory birds on to the sea beach of Kerala. I love this poem.
It is a mystery how, out of twenty birds tagged at Kamchatka Peninsula, two reached Indian shores of the Arabian Sea, one in Kerala and the other in Gujarat. The other eighteen tGg
Out of the twenty Great Knots tagged at Kamchatka Peninsula by the Russian scientists, the remaining 18 birds are not sighted yet. Nature keeps a lot of mysteries up Her sleeves.
Another good write, we have similar birds here too though I've not noticed any with tags.
Great Knot is migratory. During winter, (its breeding season) it travels to the humid warmer shores, from the freezing Tundra in Siberia.
