the bird with the blue head
do you think he knows
he has a blue head
perhaps he sees other birds
and assumes he looks
like them
perhaps the other birds
look at him and think
we all have blue heads
until they see birds
that don't have blue heads
next to the bird with the blue head
they realise the bird with the blue head
is different, a freak
but they have done this, not him
and then some get stuck in the prejudice
and remain there in their abyss
while others use this quirk of difference
and it sets them off on voyages
of avian philosophy
culminating in the more gifted
and intellectually advanced birds
inventing space travel and plastic straws
all because one bird had a blue head
