Oh ‘blithe spirit’, you wing through space
In the far sky you are just a speck to trace
As you steer your way through the clouds high
I see your floating shape against the sky

On this sultry summer afternoon, this little bird is taking beautiful bath and the imagery you have perfectly captured and expressed in this interesting poem. Refreshed and enlivened bird will fly in freedom soon. This is excellent poem to read...10
You are so shy that you bathe with all clothing on That it takes time for you to feel dry and clean So once your bath is over, you perch on a tree Ruffling your feathers until they are moisture free.....nice poetic expression. A beautiful poem with amusing expression with nice diction. My pleasure reading it time and again.
such an amazing pic Mam and the poem too is marvellous - how wonderfully you have described the bird bath, loved every line!
Such a beautiful poem. It left me with a feeling that you made every body's spirit soar high with birds and later take a cool plunge with those feathery beautiful friends. Thank you Valsa for sharing this lovely poem.
Bird songs fill hearts with pleasant feelings. Watching birds take bath is a delight. You captured these beautifully in your poem. Thank you.
A lovely comforting poem to read and enjoy. It reminded me of the little sparrows who bathe in the tub what I laid for them with water in it in my Varanda for their drinking, But the naughty sparrows quietly drop inside the tub and start bathing, fluttering their wings and with a little sound even they fly away. Thank you for sharing this sweet poem.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I really enjoyed the line You are so shy that you bathe with all clothing on. That's great! Thanks again.
Wonderful poem, Valsa. I have several bird feeders in my back yard and this morning I have already seen goldfinches, house finches, house sparrows, black-capped chickadees, Western scrub jays, Northern flickers, and downy woodpeckers. Other days I have seen quail, mourning doves, Eurasian collared doves and others. Birds are fascinating to watch. I recently wrote a poem about them called FLYING BACKWARDS. Thanks for sharing.
So interesting imagery is drawn about bird's bath. Summer afternoon is well reflected in this interesting poem definitely. Ruffling feathers for making moister free is very interesting to give wisdom. A thoughtful sharing done definitely. Nicely penned.10
Drowning the valley with your sweet lay. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant write so beautifully expressed I could visualize the beautiful scene of the little bird bathing with relish!
Valsa. I hear Bri mentioning you and I am reading your poems for the first time. A Vivid Description - Poem by WES Vogler Police officer at the scene of the automobile accident. The young lady is co-operating. 'What gear were you in when it occurred? ' 'I wore my pink jacket, nicely furred, With a tan skirt, And shoes that hurt, And a cunning little hat with a bird.' That is funny.. That poem was blue-lined in my mouse and somehow got jumped into your letter. i shall leave it for your perusal anyway. I guess it was meant to be. Anyway a 10 for your poem and I shall look for some more
Wow.....This limerick on the automobile accident is quite funny! Enjoyed it much! Thanks for the comment sir!
Keen observation on a bird's bathe nicely put on.... On this sultry summer afternoon You are going to have a cool bath soon You flap your wings in quick succession up and down Spattering little muddy showers from your gown
A flighted thought in a pretty poem. When I read Odes on a nightingale or even a parrot, eagle or crow, I feel sad there are so few birds now in our suburb to wake me up at sunrise, so rare a bird song I can learn to whistle. Once I tried to write on parakeets in a fly-past over the verandah at 'target-shooting dusk'. Maybe we should also celebrate the pattern of birds flying to their treetop dormitory around sunset. You are so shy that you bathe with all clothing on That it takes time for you to feel dry and clean So once your bath is over, you perch on a tree Ruffling your feathers until they are moisture free Observation, description and devotion when merge in each other, it's a poem of Valsa George! ................10
Lowering pinions down to alight the ground a little bird hears all natural sound. After preening every little feather to dry being moisture free it takes the flight. On sultry summer afternoon observing a bird gives amazing perception. This natural poem is excellent and this deeply attracts attention of poet like me to read it again and again. This is a great poem of course.
