Beyond The Narrow Walls (Ode To The Gurudwara) Poem by P A Noushad ...

Beyond The Narrow Walls (Ode To The Gurudwara)

Across the world, where hunger walks,
A hand appears—silent, strong—
Giving food to the empty palms,
Each day, each night, unceasingly long.

No cast, no colour draws the line,
No race, no tongue, no border sign,
No crown, no coin, no grand attire—
All are equal near this fire.

Here in England, far from home,
I found a shrine, where spirits roam—
Not in echoes of gold or fame,
But in stillness, bearing no name.

O Gurudwara! Your sacred floor,
Holds more wealth than empires store.
You feed the world without a price,
Love is your grain, and peace your rice.

Calm and quiet—songs divine
Float like stars in sacred time.
Each note a prayer, each breath a balm,
Wrapped in light, and robed in calm.

In these walls, no ego reigns,
No greed survives, no selfish chains.
Only the soul, stripped of disguise,
Finds its wings and learns to rise.

Education hums beside the hymn,
Sports and stories fill the brim—
A healthy body, mind, and soul,
Walk here as one, complete and whole.

The bliss I feel, I can't contain—
The universe whispers through my veins.
Beyond the oceans, stars, and sky,
This love will never fade or die.

I am P. A. Noushad—teacher, friend,
To hearts in lands that never end.
A son of India, proud and free,
With football dreams and poetry.

And when the world shall sing once more,
My song for FIFA shall restore—
"AMERICA"—echoed far and wide,
A voice where dreams and sports collide.

But here—yes here—I felt the light,
In Gurudwaras pure and bright.
May this poem forever stand,
A gift of love to every land.
