Beyond My Sleep Poem by Peter Strugnell

Beyond My Sleep

If I could look out beyond my sleep,
I'd lie if I hoped no-one would weep,
So play that music my Angel Band,
As I return to ashes and sand.

There is no right or wrong in how we feel,
Creeping grief rocks the even keel,
Don't believe that you can never fight,
Mother‘s passing shed some light

Let's not get tied in tape and string,
Hung on objects of little meaning,
In my eyes and in equal measure,
You are the ones I've always treasured.

If you bend to give that one last kiss,
If I could make just one more wish,
As they close my eyes and pull the plug,
It would be to send you all my love.xx
