Beyond All Names — A Poem of the Self

Do not be theist, nor atheist,
Be only you, and know the you beyond all names.
To be or not to be is no question of doubt,
It is the mirror where the soul begins its search.

Live life with its sorrow and sweetness,
With wounds and wonders, storms and stars,
Honour every shade of existence,
For all is sacred in the silent breath of Being.

Be not Hindu, nor Muslim, nor ex-anything;
Be nothing—
And in that nothingness, become everything.

What divides religions but words and walls?
Buddha says: desire is the fire of hell,
Let it go, let it fall like dust from your hands.
Islam says: obey the Divine Law,
And heaven shall open like a garden of light.
But Buddha whispers again,
To desire even heaven is the root of sorrow,
Every wanting is a step toward the abyss.

Islam dreams of paradise,
Buddhism yearns for awakening,
Hinduism dissolves the self into the Infinite:
To be nothing, to be All, to be free.

Religion teaches—act well, harvest blessings;
Spirituality murmurs:
Lose the self, and you shall find the Eternal.

It is not what you do that matters,
But what you are.
To whom you pray is not supreme,
But the state of your being is the true temple.

Some worship the formless sky,
Some carve the Infinite in stone,
Some see God in a black stone kissed with tears,
Some in the wind, the river, the burning sun,
Some in silence, some in song,
Some reject all worship,
Yet all rivers run to the same sea.

Paths are many—Tantra, Tao, prayer, meditation,
Breath, doubt, devotion, surrender or stillness,
But the ocean is one.
Arrival matters; the road does not.

Rivers lose their names as they meet the sea.
So must the mind dissolve into Infinity.

Wear any robe, speak any name,
Walk any road beneath the stars,
No way is higher, no way is lower,
All are but echoes of the same longing for Home.

Do not judge—for judgment chains the soul.
Do not hate—for hatred returns like a mirror.
Religion is not ritual or stone or scripture,
It is the fragrance of a heart in love with the Divine.

Faith gives wings, yet blind faith breeds night;
Belief is the first step,
But belief without knowing turns to rust.
Test, seek, burn in the fire of truth,
And become gold.

Only the blind say "my way is the only way, "
For Truth has doors as countless as the stars.
From any point in the universe
One may journey to the sun.

Mind can melt into the Eternal
Through love, through joy, through witness and silence,
Through dance, through prayer, through song,
or through stillness like a stone.

The path is personal,
Love is personal,
Enlightenment is personal.

Go beyond the mind, beyond desire,
Know yourself.
And in that knowing,
The whole universe shall awaken within you.
