Beware Poem by William Deutscher

Beware

Beware the message
through the long hot day;
enticements to pleasure
any old way.

Beware the promise,
made in abject joy;
adornments to glamour
ambiguously coy.

Beware the satiation
of a glittering night;
blue allotments
measured in delight.

Beware the dappled dream,
fabled in its spin;
tight envelopments
past all kith and kin.
