Best Friends Forever Poem by Dawn Rodgers

Best Friends Forever

Walking through this life smiling on the outside
Iv'e learned how to fake it,
make it look like I'm alright
On the inside my hearts in pieces
the pain runs deep...

The words you spoke they sounded so true,
such charm,
your smile,
your voice,

I believed every word
thought you were the real deal

I don't understand
how could you let me down?

Somewhere in my heart
I keep holding on
Thinking somehow our love will be strong
Fight against the odds
Survive the test of time

You hurt me deep though
Your silence cuts like a knife

How can you be so cold?
'Best Friends forever, ' that's what you said.
really we were more but that's what you'll admit

' Good night, Sweet dreams, '
the last words you spoke

But my dreams became an illusion
A memory I can't forget.
